Chrysalis Care Parent and Child Service
Chrysalis Care has a small dedicated group of carers who specialise in working with parents and children, as well as a children’s services department that supports this very specific work. Chrysalis Care have developed a placement provision that enables placements for children and families that require either a supported placement or a complex expert assessment within the PLO, court proceedings, or those child protection cases that are in need of a comprehensive assessment.
We recognise that each situation is unique. We need a range of foster carers to offer what each situation requires – Could you be one of our Parent and Child Foster Carers?
The training and preparation for our foster carers to undertake this work is considered alongside our Core Training programme and is linked to CWDC and national standards. As a Chrysalis Care foster carer, you are fully supported and prepared for the role.

Chrysalis Care Remand Fostering Service
Chrysalis Care has developed a scheme where a small, specially trained and dedicated group of foster carers provide remand placements for young people aged 10 to 16 years old, who are remanded to local authority accommodation. There is the requirement to ensure the welfare needs of young people in the criminal justice system are met, as well as effectively addressing serious or persistent offending behaviour. Chrysalis Care’s remand fostering offers a safe environment for an alleged offender, assisting the young person to achieve their goals and providing an alternative to secure or custodial accommodation whilst awaiting trial or sentencing.
Chrysalis Care supports young people during a difficult period in their life, as we feel that with appropriate support, young people can be assisted in reducing the likelihood of further re-offending or offending during the remand period. Chrysalis Care provides a non judgemental, safe, stable environment for young people on remand and feel that by taking a holistic, multi agency approach to remand fostering placements, we will enable young people to reflect on and address their offending behaviour as well as meeting their welfare needs.
