Our History

In 1997 Lou & Lynda Boden created Chrysalis Care with more than forty years of child care experience between them. Lou and Lynda Boden were themselves foster carers for 12 years and specialised in working with adolescents.

Lynda Boden is a qualified youth and community worker with many years experience of working within a field social work team (adolescent resources), providing support to young people in care.

Lynda was instrumental in the establishing of a Leaving Care team within a large London borough. She devised and implemented a Life Skills training course for young people in both residential and foster care. She also initiated a training pack for foster carers which the Fostering Network are currently producing. Lynda also has considerable experience within the private sector as a marketing and development manager of care services for children and young people. She also holds a N.E.B.S.M. qualification in Supervisory Management.

Louis Boden was formerly a Senior Social Worker for Kent Social Services, specialising in work with young offenders and groupwork with victims of abuse. Louis has developed his management skills within the private sector by managing a variety of children's homes in south London, including a therapeutic resource for young women. He has studied therapeutic strategies at the Institute of Group Analysis and at the London Centre for Psychotherapy. He has also studied Family Therapy at the University of Kent.
