What our carers say about fostering
The best moments
“There has been no ‘one’ best moment there have been countless. Just as with your own children, the rewards are endless. Each small improvement, each little smile brightens my life, my families life and hopefully the child’s as well.”
Rebecca Smith
“So far we have helped a number of children move on and we like to think that we have made a positive difference in their lives. Our dream is to see a transformation from when they come to when they go. Realistically, it doesn’t always happen but that’s the challenge!”
Harvey and Kirsty Langman
“Looking after such good kids. It might be that fostering is just something that suits our family and the way we are but we’ve been able to turn kids around. We see such good things, one getting a gold award for gymnastics, one getting belts for karate, taking the kids on an aeroplane for the first time or taking them skiing.”
Gerry and Lorraine Allen
“Our best moment was one little boy. He came when he was 8 and he could not write. When he left a year later he could write so much. He went to live with his dad and five years later they still call. I still feel over the moon every time they call. His father thanked me for helping to put his son on the right track. Whenever the boy phones, even now, he still asks if I am making my lamb chops!”
